Founded in 1966 The Psalter Lane Nursery is one of Sheffield longest established private Nurseries and enjoys an enviable reputation.
The nursery is sited in a Victorian building and gardens incorporating four units which your child will progress through on their journey with us.
We provide full day care for children between the ages of twelve months and five years for 38 weeks of the year. We also provide a holiday club for children up to and including eight years of age.
The nursery is located in a leafy suburb in the South West side of the city, its prime location makes it ideally suited for parents who commute into Sheffield or who live in the surrounding areas.

Tree House
Ages 12 months to 2 years
This is our very youngest room in nursery. Offering a gentle start for their first experiences away from home, our smallest room provides a warm stimulating environment; for a maximum of 6 children, where they can feel safe and secure as their curiosity develops and they explore the world around them.
Our small numbers and dedicated qualified staff enable us to offer highly personalised care to each and every child enabling them to develop a secure attachment which will underpin their growing sense of discovery.

Tree Tops
Ages 2 to 3 years
As your child’s sense of self begins to grow, they will flourish in the unique homely atmosphere apparent throughout the nursery.
Our Tree Tops room has a maximum of twelve children and three staff; here children are free to explore the broad range of activities on offer as they develop their self confidence and self esteem through their increasing social interactions and developing relationships.
Their inquisitive natures and individual characteristics are supported and encouraged by quality interactions with mature qualified staff.

Garden Room
Ages 3 to 5 years
This is one of our two pre-school rooms that run along side each other. The Garden Room has the added benefit of french doors onto our all weather surface and garden allowing for a versatile use of the space.
Children now become part of a larger social group of fourteen children reflecting their growing social and independence skills. Exploration, learning and development continue to be based on a well structured, play orientated environment informed through individual planning and topic based activities.

Oak Room
Ages 3 to 5 years
This is the second of our two preschool rooms; being a slightly larger room we have a social group of sixteen children. As with the Garden Room the larger social grouping reflects their increasing skills and abilities.
Once the children belong to one of the preschool rooms there is an added element of small group activities organised by mature, qualified staff, who ensure that each child has the opportunity to experience a mix of large group, small group, and one to one activities within their sessions.
