Autumn Term Newsletter

Welcome to the Autumn Term at The Psalter Lane Nursery. We hope you have had a great Summer and are ready to join us for a fun and exciting term.

We would like to welcome Miss Peris to our staff team. She is a qualified teacher who will be working with the children in Oak Room. We also welcome Miss Seaton who is a qualified NNEB practitioner and will be working with the children in Garden Room.

It is always nice to know what the children have been up to over the holidays, so we would love for them to bring in any photographs of trips, holidays, outings or anything special they would like to share with their teacher and friends.

Scrapbooks

We would love it if you could put things in your child’s Scrapbook, it gives the child opportunities to share what they do at home and at nursery.

Our topic this term is “All about me”. Some children are new to the nursery and some have moved rooms so there are a lot of new faces and people to get to know. Our topic will support the children to build new friendships and relationships as well as their self confidence in their new environment.

Treehouse

The children in Treehouse will be learning songs about the body such as “Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”, “If you’re happy and you know it” to encourage the children to learn body parts and follow simple instructions i.e. “Where is your nose?”, “Where is Teddy’s nose?”!

             Tree Tops

The children in Tree Tops will be learning about Elmer the Elephant, about how we are all different and about being kind and sharing. They will also be learning lots of colours.

Garden Room/Oak Room

The children in Garden Room and Oak Room will be learning about themselves, their families and those of others. It will give them opportunities to discover similarities and differences in one another, develop new vocabulary and build on their Personal, Social and Emotional Development. You can help at home by talking to your children about their family, looking at photographs to see how they have grown and changed from being a baby, talk about what they like to do at nursery etc.

Please like us on Facebook and look out for all the up to date news and information as well as the fun and exciting activities the children have been doing.

Bike & Pram Shelter

We now have a pram and bike shelter at the top of the drive where you are welcome to use whilst your child is at nursery. Please be aware that they are left there at your own risk and the nursery cannot be held responsible for any damage or theft.

To celebrate Harvest Festival we will be collecting non perishable food to donate to the local food bank. A container will be placed in the porch for all donations. Thank you!.

The Weather

The weather is already beginning to change and the children will be needing wellies, hats and gloves very soon. Could we please remind you to label your child’s clothes and wellies clearly with their name as so many of the children have similar styles in clothing.
